Some flexibility in scheduling. This is a pipeline posting to recruit for vacant registered nurse positions in the Section for Health Standards and Licensure. In these positions, you are a surveyor/inspector (Registered Nurse/RN) within the Section for Health Standards & Licensure, the State agency with regulatory oversight of various regulated healthcare providers including hospitals, ambulatory surgery, dialysis, home health and hospice. We are regulators who ensure healthcare providers comply with the rules and provide quality care to Missouri residents. You will be a telecommuter working from your home office when you are not out completing surveys/inspections across Missouri. You will learn the Federal Regulations and State laws pertaining to various healthcare providers. These regulations are used when going onsite to conduct surveys/inspections/investigations. Typical work schedule: You will spend 3-4 days out in the field performing surveys/inspections and then work from home when not out in the field. The facilities are located throughout the entire state of Missouri, so you can anticipate travel with overnight stays of 2-3 nights per week on the inspection weeks. Hotels, meals, and travel expenses paid while out on inspection. You will attend an organized orientation and training program so that you will be comfortable in your new position. You will typically (although not always, depending on the inspection type) work as a team with one or two other surveyors. Your success is measured by both team and individual productivity, carried out with a committed work ethic while maintaining a high level of integrity. What you'll do: Conduct on-site surveys/inspections across Missouri to assure compliance with federal and state regulations Investigate complaint allegations Review clinical records for documentation requirements Interview facility staff, patients and families Observe patient care by facility staff Review provider policies and procedures Serve as a regulatory resource for regulated entities Complete survey reports following specified guidelines All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications Current Missouri license as a Registered Nurse/RN in good standing 5 years of applicable clinical experience (preferably in one of the regulated provider types) Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational & time management skills Basic computer skills A valid driver's license Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
