Provides for Quality Assurance through review and audit of clinic charts to assure adequate medical management and follow-up; provides consultation to other providers. May lead, train, assign and review work of assigned provider, nursing, sub-professional and clerical staff; may serve as preceptor of nursing, student nursing and medical student staff. May develop, write, implement and update related protocols; keeps records and completes forms and questionnaires as required. With appropriate training, certification and authorization may perform more sophisticated primary care, specified surgical procedures and prescribe and dispense medications.
