DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Support and Development: Enhance understanding and interpretation of state, University, division, and departmental policies and procedures, recognizing their implications on programming and services. Under the supervision of the Director of Diversity Outreach Initiatives, this position will develop, administer and implement activities and programs related to outreach, recruitment, diversity initiatives, and sponsored projects. Collaborate with campus and community entities on events and programs that promote an assets-based approach to working with Black students and further enhance an understanding of the Black Diaspora. Collaborate with campus stakeholders to provide support to applicants from auxiliary programs, such as the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Renaissance Scholars, Veterans, Metro Academies, Athletics, Project Rebound, and other programs focused on underserved communities. Provide regular reports and updates to leadership on the progress and impact of diversity outreach and program development efforts. OREP: Participates in all OREP and divisional staff development, staff meetings, and major staff events to promote the University. Conducts testing of systems utilized by OREP (e.g., Cal State Apply application, Slate information/communication system, etc.) Adheres to laws and policies established regarding computer data, records, accounting, and personnel by the California State University, Cal Poly Pomona, and OREP to demonstrate sensitivity and appropriate conduct as a University employee. Adheres to and advises prospective students properly regarding CSU admission policies. Prepares and utilizes outreach reports detailing application, admit, and enrollment trends, and analyzes prospective student inquiries to determine yield strategies. Performs administrative and programmatic duties as assigned, including providing generalist support at the department service desk and telephones. Works extended hours, weekends, and evenings to support OREP programs and services. Rotates on a needed basis to perform customer service duties and support the front- facing counter of OREP, as determined by OREP leadership and/or operational need. Develops and conducts workshops for prospective students and school counselors in the navigation and uses of ASSIST. Advise students regarding standardized testing. Conducts workshops in the areas of application, transfer, and financial aid. Position Summary The Director has oversight for the daily operations and strategic priorities of the Pierce Greek Life Center, as well as the implementation of educational programming and engagement opportunities facilitated by the center. Position Summary The Director has oversight for the daily operations and strategic priorities of the Pierce Greek Life Center, as well as the implementation of educational programming and engagement opportunities facilitated by the center. The Director of the Pierce Greek Life Center has responsibility for supervising staff and policy implementation, including the student organization recognition process for fraternities and sororities, engaging in the student organization judicial processes, coordination of the center’s advising team, serving in an on-call capacity, and duties associated with California State University System - Executive Order 1068. In addition to budgetary duties, the Director of the Pierce Greek Life Center manages a staff of professionals, graduate students, and undergraduate student assistants. They are also responsible for serving as liaisons with alumni/advisors, community members, and inter/national offices and boards. Typical duties but are not limited to: Conceptualizes innovative, wide-reaching student activities rooted in Pierce Greek Life Center values to elevate the quality of the ‘fraternity and sorority experience’, effectively communicate these plans to stakeholders, and assist in identifying funding to support them. Serves in an on-call capacity to support students during times of emergency, crisis, and risk. Leads risk management and harm reduction efforts for the Pierce Greek Life Center. Writes or supports grant applications related to fraternity and sorority life and collaborates with SA+CD Development in order to identify additional funding support for the Pierce Greek Life Center. Develops, implements, manages, and assesses initiatives as recommended by the Presidential Task Force on Student Activities and Safety, Presidential Task Force on Alcohol and Substance Misuse, and the university/divisional strategic plans. Facilitates campus-wide connecting opportunities for students to participate in transformational experiences by working with campus partners and student groups. Administers recognition and accreditation-type programs for fraternities and sororities. Manages staff in facilitating the student organization recognition and event application processes to ensure communication and permitting of all Greek-lettered organizations and activities. When necessary, guides and advises students, faculty, staff, and the community regarding the processes, policies, and regulations associated with outdoor space, outdoor sound, event approvals, and marketing activities. Serves as representative on a wide variety of University Committees, including but not limited to the University’s Collaborative Incident Management Team, Alcohol and Other Drug Task Force, Hazing Prevention Task Force, Campus Management Action Team, Aztec Nights Management Team, to assist in event supervision and crisis mediation and various AS Council Boards/Committees as assigned. Supports and attends programs, events, and activities within the Campus Life Subdivision, Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity, and University. Serves as a judicial hearing officer as requested by the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities. Teaches University Seminar and courses in the Leadership Minor as appropriate.
