The District Attorney is a State Constitutional Officer when prosecuting crimes defined under State Law. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Being part of the Sheriff's Office and being expected to keep the public safe requires a thorough background investigation process. This process includes an assessment of prior work history, verifying educational experiences, court reports, public records searches, understanding past patterns relating to drug usage, financial patterns, etc. This entails gathering a significant amount of information from job candidates and speaking to former employers, friends, family members, etc. Polygraphs, drug tests, and medical, psychological, and physical examinations are also part of this process. Candidates must be honest and forthcoming about information that may arise during the background process. Deception during any portion of this process is grounds for disqualification, even after employment. This process can take anywhere from 3-5 months. Many factors are taken into consideration and one should not assume a credit issue or prior drug use is automatically disqualifying. Candidates will be given the opportunity to present mitigating information they feel should be considered. About the Position Cal State East Bay has recently been awarded a grant through the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) as a part of the Reproductive Health Services Corps (RHSC). The Corps is comprised of six organizations: TEACH, UCSF School of Nursing, Cal State East Bay Department of Nursing, NSRH, ACTIONS, and the Black Midwifery Fellowship. The purpose of the RHSC is to develop and/or update current curricula to provide comprehensive reproductive health care training, from abortion care to scope of practice for various health care professionals throughout the state of California. The primary deliverable is the development and launching of a Continuing Education course on abortion care. As a part of our work on this project, Cal State East Bay’s Broadening Sexual and Reproductive Health in Nursing Education (BSN Ed) Project is working with a team of experts to write a comprehensive list of sexual and reproductive healthcare competencies for the registered nurse that is inclusive of abortion care and teaches registered nurses to the full scope of practice within the state of California. This is a full-time, salaried position that is associated with a 4-year grant that may or may not be renewed at the end of the initial 4-year term. Responsibilities Grant Administration Develop and implement processes and practices for accurate and effective management, support and tracking of all aspects of grant programming; both day-to-day and longitudinally. Data Collection, Analysis, and Action Monitor progress of programming towards the objectives and key performance indicators as established in the grant proposal, including all program participants’ retention and graduation rates: Work closely with the PI of the grant and evaluation team at UCSF in program evaluation, specifically ensuring that data collection is aligned across partners and meets requirements of HCAI. Implement and develop program data tracking and assessment tools, including reviewing requirements and expectations from grant funders, ensuring completion and submission of necessary data, ensuing and preparation of reports. Complete required reporting. Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulations. Create process guides that outline roles and responsibilities for grant related work, including alignment of data collection methods. Ensure student assistants and others (faculty and staff) comply with policies and regulations, including required trainings, such as IRB and Human Subjects. Update course based on user feedback with respect to formatting, organization, accessibility, and user friendliness. Course Development and Maintenance Facilitate organization and format of course content in Canvas in collaboration with the course development team. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities, including those with significant mental health challenges and those with developmental disabilities such as Autism. Demonstrated experience with coordinating programs, services or departments. Familiarity with grant-funded programs. Strong organizational and time-management skills. General competence with software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, Blumen, Accommodate, and Blackboard. Demonstrated successful presentation and facilitation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate within a diverse community of faculty, staff, students and community. Ability to be flexible in challenging environments that often require rapid adjustments in scheduling and service provisions. Ability to creatively problem-solve and negotiate when policies conflict between Federal, State, and University requirements. Experience leading a team. Preferred Skills and Knowledge Three years experience providing professional student support services work. Master’s degree in Counseling, Educational Psychology, Psychology or related field. Previous TRIO background is highly desirable. Knowledge of TRIO programs and their goals/objectives. Demonstrated experience with Blumen software is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience training others in assistive technologies (Kurzweil 3000, Dragon Naturally Speaking, JAWS, ZoomText, mind mapping software, smart pen, etc). Knowledge of assistive technology devices (Kurzweil 3000, Dragon Naturally Speaking, JAWS, ZoomText, mind mapping software, smart pen, etc); models for the assistive technology assessment process, and theories governing assistive technology support and training. Assistive Technology Applications Certification or Credential is preferred. Ability to collect, analyze and organize data for reporting statistical information. An in-depth understanding of the financial aid process, student requirements for meeting academic progress standards, and required student-submitted financial aid documentation for the Financial Aid Office. General knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices. Experience with strategy instruction, such as effective reading strategies, note taking strategies, and study skills. Knowledge of legally mandated services to students with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
