The objective of this position is to support the university’s enrollment goals through timely and effective processing of student’s financial aid application. The Senior Financial Aid Analyst will provide quality customer service to students and families regarding financial aid eligibility and will be responsible to analyze federal and state financial aid applications to determine financial need; prepare and award financial aid packages; and perform all duties related to the financial aid process, including return of Title IV. The Senior Financial Aid Analyst also provides program guidance in assigned area and utilizes high level analytical and interpersonal skills to investigate and resolve student concerns. The incumbent works in collaboration with appropriate campus departments that manage the hiring, payroll and accounts payable components for employers to ensure compliance with the Federal Work Study Program. Job Summary Under limited supervision of the Senior Associate Registrar for Systems and Technical Innovation, the Registrar Systems Analyst (RSA) is responsible for providing overall functional support for the Student Records module within PeopleSoft-Campus Solutions, the student information system of record for San José State University. The RSA is an expert who understands the business processes of the Student Records module and its data structures and functional needs of the Office of the Registrar. The position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the module, including adaptations/modifications made by the CSU’s Common Management System (CMS) or San José State. The RSA’s responsibilities include but are not limited to, the review and analysis of various functionalities in the student records module, maintenance of the university’s registration and grading systems, management of query tools, and the analysis, testing, implementation of technical updates, and continual process improvements. The Registrar Systems Analyst acts as an interface between Information Technology (IT) and the functional area, providing module configuration, testing coordination and support, and escalating technical issues and change requests as needed. The RSA works independently to coordinate projects and has the ability to adjust priorities as necessary. Job Summary Under limited supervision of the Senior Associate Registrar for Systems and Technical Innovation, the Registrar Systems Analyst (RSA) is responsible for providing overall functional support for the Student Records module within PeopleSoft-Campus Solutions, the student information system of record for San José State University. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A Ph.D., Ed.D., or other terminal degree in education-related field with experience [HR1] in PK-12 teaching and higher education teaching and administration (e.g., coordinator, director, committee chair, department chair, and/or associate dean). Must qualify on appointment for tenure at level of Associate Professor or Professor, with Professor as preferable. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure with competing demands; ability to be proactive, flexible, and collaborative as a leader and senior administrator to set and accomplish strategic goals and priorities and to cultivate a collegial environment. Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong written and oral communication, strong organizational abilities; fluency with digital tools; understanding of systems and organizational leadership. Desirable Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish). Credential in teaching, counseling, and/or educational leadership in California or state with credentials reciprocity. Familiarity and/or experience with institutions serving historically underrepresented students. Familiarity with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing policies, procedures, programs, and credentials and other accrediting agencies. Familiarity with collective bargaining and management of union contracts. Experience with policy development, personnel management, enrollment management, and/or budgets.
