Job Description and Duties STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I - OFFICE OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION / ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES / SACRAMENTO The reporting location for this position is the Office of Historic Preservation in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the direction of CEA, Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer. The Staff Services Manager I will coordinate and supervise the administrative functions and responsibilities of the Office of Historic Preservation. The incumbent will maintain inventory of historical resources in the state and the communications and outreach functions of the office. All these functions are governed by federal and state law, regulations, and policies, and the incumbent is responsible for understanding and implementing or complying with these requirements. The incumbent is responsible for working as part of the management team in the office to interpret, develop, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal and state administrative requirements. Additionally, the incumbent supervises staff assigned to carry out administrative duties in the office and coordinates with the other office supervisors on the relevant issues of their respective program responsibilities as it relates to administration of the office. Supervision of staff includes responsibility for training, performance appraisals, upward mobility, and other administrative tasks associated with a supervisor. Training and Development Assignments may be considered. This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered, the selected incumbent will be required to report to their assigned office a minimum of two (2) days per week, and as requested.
