Full-time position available KC Water Engineering Facilities Division located at 4800 E. 63rd Street. Will be filled as Registered Engineer OR Principal Engineering Technician or Graduate Engineer.
Salary Range: Registered Engineer: $4,531-$7,534/month; Principal Engineering Technician: $3,957-$6,769/month; Graduate Engineer: $3,957-$6,769/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Supports management of multiple capital projects at the same time and in different stages of development from planning, budgeting and conceptual stages to construction, asset management and final close out. Manages utility maintenance contracts and coordinates with utility operations and maintenance staff on execution of work through maintenance contracts. Analyzes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in areas such as project scheduling, management, execution and staff resources; their impact on the department's mission; and results of corrective actions. Develops presentations for team meetings, track KPIs, create reports for Engineering Division Managers. Maintain and create new, as needed, documentation for all standard operating procedures. Works with various divisions to ensure accurate and timely processing of data. Run software application queries and other reports to analyze data and make recommendations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Registered Engineer REQUIRES professional engineer registration. Within 6 months of hire date, must be registered as a professional engineer with Missouri Board for Professional Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
Principal Engineering Technician REQUIRES high school graduation and 12 years of related and increasingly responsible experience in engineering drawing, mapping, automated mapping, GIS and equipment or CADD, engineering, land survey, construction inspection and related fields; OR high school graduation and possession of the Level IV Certification as an Engineering Technician (ET) as issued by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or a Registered Land Surveyors License as issued by the Missouri Board of Architects, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors; OR an acceptable combination of qualifying education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Graduate Engineer REQUIRES graduation from an ABET accredited four year college or university with major course work in any professionally recognized architectural/engineering discipline as required by the hiring authority.
Preference given to applicants with a Bachelor's degree with major course work in Construction Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering or related field and/or PMI PMP Certification (Project Management Institute Project Management Professional).
