Do you know someone who is ready to play a key role as a leader in a growing and vibrant organization? The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department's Capital Delivery Division is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve in a key leadership Sr. Capital Projects Officer role. The position is responsible for building leaders and working across the organization to drive innovation and develop best practices and standards for capital delivery. The Sr. Capital Projects Officer does not require the P.E. registration.

This position reports to the Transportation and Public Works Assistant Director. The successful candidate is responsible for managing a team of very capable and enthusiastic Engineering Managers, responsible for project delivery teams who manage and deliver hundreds of projects representing hundreds of millions of capital dollars, executed across our rapidly growing City.

As key leaders for the organization, the Sr. Capital Projects Officer position works with other key leaders in the City and serves the organization through representing the City's core values as they focus on implementing project delivery and technical best practices for the City's infrastructure programs.

Preferred candidates will possess the following:
  • Proven experience in understanding and apply capital delivery best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in planning, implementing and delivering large capital programs and diverse portfolios of work.
  • Facilitating supply chain enhancements to ensure return on investment to the community and stakeholders.
  • Contract administration of using a variety of contract methodologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all project management disciplines (scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, communication, etc.)
  • Management and leadership experience in developing talent and building high performance teams
  • A successful track record of delivering program and portfolio management work products and tools to facilitate a comprehensive and cohesive capital program.
  • Preferred candidates will possess at least one of the following Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Program Management Professional (PGMP), Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Familiarity with the Primavera P6 scheduling
  • Candidate with more than 10 years of experience managing capital programs and diverse capital delivery teams including management and leadership responsibility.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point skills are required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in project / program management, engineering, landscape architecture, planning, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible administrative experience preferably within a local government environment.
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas Driver's License.
