Salary: $51,281 - $76,170 per yr
Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. This position is located at Ely State Prison (ESP), in Ely, Nevada. Under supervision, the incumbent provides psychological services to inmates in a correctional setting; performs report writing; treats mentally ill offenders; provides group and individual counseling; teaches psycho-educational classes; and responds to crises. Evaluates inmate's mental status and behavior for clinical needs, and make appropriate referrals; conduct evaluations for administrative and disciplinary segments of inmates; provides intervention strategy or treatment plan; and participate in Interdisciplinary Classification Committee and Treatment Team meetings.
