THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT TO THE CITY MANAGER

The City is currently seeking to fill its Assistant to the City Manager position. Under the direction of the City Manager, the Assistant to the City Manager provides managerial and complex administrative support to the City Manager and Assistant City Manager on a variety of complex and confidential administrative matters; manages critical and/or sensitive projects and priority initiatives established by the City Council; provides high-level research and analysis; reviews, monitors and reports legislative and other intergovernmental activities; provides consultation on major departmental policies and the planning of long term projects. 
 
The ideal Assistant to the City Manager will have a proven track record of success in municipal management. He/she must have five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of municipal management, or performing advanced level analytical work for a government agency, legislator or public or private organization involving legislative advocacy, including two (2) years of supervisory experience. Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in public administration  or a closely related field. A  Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable. Appointment will be made within the range of $103,560-$138,804 and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
