Join our Avionics team today.Role OverviewThe Project Manager (PM) position provides significant leadership and Project Management expertise for the delivery of the Los Angeles airports projects in conjunction with customer business requirements. This person will report to a Senior Program Manager who will insure Collins Aerospace quality and ISO standards are met.The PM will help create and deliver communications, integration, and engineering/IT solutions that our Los Angeles (LAWA) airport customers demand. The PM will be responsible for managing a team of project/program managers to deliver projects on time, within budget and in a manner that enhances Collins Aerospace's IMS's reputation to encourage additional business from customers. The PM will manage a team of engineers in addition to an occasional subcontractor.Primary Responsibilities: Managing LAWA stakeholders' expectations as well as managing a team of engineers and subcontractors, to include: Routine administrative tasks (timesheets, expense reports, etc.) Assignments of tasks and projects to be worked, with proper management to ensure workload and staffing level is balanced to minimize need for indirect or non-revenue hours; Providing inputs for costing estimates and proposals to the Bids and Proposals team (either personally or through appropriate delegation); Leading a diverse team of people to deliver projects exceeding customer expectations and successful for IMS and the customer; Working with individual employees on financial variances and strategies for recovery where needed. Organization and execution of monthly and quarterly Project Status Reviews; Compiling monthly cost analysis and reports; Understanding the essentials of, and assisting with the preparation and negotiation of contracts; Maintaining project documentation in accordance with ISO guidelines; Delegating work to appropriate people, whether they are with IMS, the customer or 3rd parties; Using project management tools & techniques, such as MS Project, critical path analysis, time recording systems and other systems to manage projects; Monitoring completion of subcontractors' scope; Applying project management skills and techniques, e.g. team leading, multi-tasking and financial awareness to deliver high quality projects. QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.Proven experience as a Project Leader / Program Manager experience; ideally in an Airline/Airport environment.Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Project and MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Experience in an operational environment.Experience in Financial Management.Adaptable to work in a fluid and demanding operational environment.PMP or Prince2 qualification preferred.A proven track record of successful project delivery.People Management:Posses demonstrated leadership of functional and project teams.Ability to meet cost, schedule, budget and operational goals.Excellent customer oriented attitude.Managing and Mentoring of project management team.Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) and administrative skills.Strong interpersonal skills.At Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibility.
