Job Description

Summary: The allocator will be based in Los Angeles Ops Centre and will have responsibly to oversee Ramp manning and GSE requirements. Must have ability to work under pressure, change allocated Ramp Crews as required. Responsible for overseeing all personnel and flight movement, take accountability for safety, resource management, operation standards, communicate directly with Airline Customers. Manage daily. Hourly and real time plan for Ramp Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage on a daily, hourly and real time basis the manpower and GSE plan for the Los Angeles Operation. • Allocate manning GSE to meet the needs to customer and Menzies aviation. • Supervise Lead Agents; allocating ramp agents resources as needed. • Obtain inbound and outbound load plans from customers. • Become direct point of contact to provide real time operational information for Ramp Teams, Airlines and Station Manager. • Create live shift report. • Provide Ramp Supervisor with Load Plans for flight. • Record arrival times of ramp teams at assigned gate. • Record departure times of aircraft. • Complete shift reports and sign timecards. • Inform Station Manager of any delays or service failure. • Update aircraft arrival and departure times, communicate to ramp crews. • Record GSE defects and report to GSE maintenance. • Record additional / ad-hoc services as requested by airline and insure dispatch cards are signed off for all services rendered. • Collect walk around check sheets for each flight. • Record staff absences, or late personnel, make changes to ramp team to cover and shortfall in manning. • Authorize overtime hours due to staff absences, late personnel, or changes to ramp team to cover shortfall in manning. • Ensure the ramp Lead and Agent personnel adhere to established company safety regulations. • Monitor performance, taking action to correct any shortfalls. • Liaises with airline station managers, airport operations staff, handling agents, customs, immigration, and security officials, and other airport stakeholders. • Work shifts as required by the busines • To report any significant deficiency in our operations directly to Duty Manager. • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practise especially those relating to safety and security. • Assist Operations Manager in obtaining Read and Signs. • Maintain and secure confidential employee information in Time and Attendance System. • Maintain and secure confidential employee contact information. • Prepare disciplinary, incident and or termination reports as needed for violations of company policy. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills: • Ground Handling experience at a high volume international airport; • Able to communicate effectively; • Conversant with international airline ramp handling procedures, International aviation safety and security procedures, and Menzies ramp, safety and security procedures; • Excellent knowledge of ramp GSE; • Provide daily and real time plan for Los Angeles operations; • Manage ramp teams as demanded by changes in flight schedules; • Provide real time information to Duty Manger, customers and ramp teams; • Must pass a pre-employment medical. • Must pass a drug test. • Must pass an FBI background check. • Must pass an FBI background check and obtain a custom seal; • Must pass driver's test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver's license to drive on Airport Operational Area (AOA); • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. • Work is done primarily outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. • Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs
