We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for our California Buildings District office located in Glendale, CA. Responsibilities: In conjunction with Chief Estimator, establishes team assignments and identifies estimating review dates Develops winning strategy for complex bid submissions and uses analytical skills to recognize project risks and opportunities in order to determine potential impact and develop a mitigation plan Takes the lead in the development of a conceptual estimate/design-build bid submissionActs as a liaison with external consultants and project management to estimate project budget requirements and coordinates proposal development process on behalf of clientsIn conjunction with the Chief Estimator, prepares and reviews proposal submission requirements Establishes a critical path schedule, including milestone dates and completion timelines to meet contract completion dates for large projects Captures and understands trade scopes and communicates gaps/missing information Organizes bid closing assignments to meet submission deadlines on closing dayConducts a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications to determine overall project requirements (bonding, insurance, etc.) and identifies any associated risk factors, including the monitoring of published addenda that may alter the original scope of the project Solicits pricing from subcontractors and suppliers for labor, equipment, and materials in order to ascertain the most competitive price while meeting PCL's safety and quality standards In conjunction with the Chief Estimator, completes a final bid submission review and oversees the final tender document submission to the client on behalf of PCL Ability to oversee multiple projects with multiple clients Assign and oversee the work of estimating staff working on same bid preparation Provides information and guidance to project management staff during contract turnover Available for consultation on sub-trade agreements and change orders as required by project management staff Available for guidance and consultation to owners and client representatives Assist Chief Estimator with go-no-go decisions and district business developmentNetworks and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders, specifically trade contractors in order to ensure responsiveness and good pricingRegular
