Salary: $51,281 - $76,170 per yr
Registered Nurses provide general or specialized professional nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. The Nurse I works under the supervision of the Correctional Nurse III and will consult with them on a regular basis. The incumbent will work in a trainee capacity to acquire the skills and experience in performing the duties of a Correctional Nurse. The Nurse will communicate plans with team members by attending nursing meetings and sharing with other team members; assist with team responsibilities and assignments as necessary; use patient problems to plan patient care addressing chief presenting problems incorporating the plan of nursing care into the multidisciplinary treatment plan; collect/document the medical/mental health conditions of patients using appropriate charting protocols; complete health assessments; collect statistical data, tracking current outpatient medications and patient outcome; review inmates to determine need for referrals or assessment; observe all safety practices at all times for the safely of self and others; follow Department accident reporting procedures; and comply with all OSHA guidelines. Incumbents will be working directly with inmates to carry out nursing care assignments, promote optimal health and patient independence, document problems requiring nursing interventions, document patient teaching needs and discharge planning, communicate care plans to other nurses to maintain continuity of care. **Please ensure your application reflects your current nursing license information.
