Annual salary range: $96,200 to $140,000 DOQ DOE

The City of Fort Morgan, an award winning, friendly, and self-sufficient community of diverse citizens, is seeking a politically-savvy, licensed attorney to serve as their next City Attorney. This position serves as the legal advisor to the Mayor, City Council, and staff in representing an eclectic community that owns and operates its own utilities.
The City Attorney is responsible for advising city leadership and staff in all legal matters and will enjoy a broad exposure to all areas of municipal law and governance. The City Attorney oversees one staff member and reports up to the governing body.
Successful candidates will possess a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado (or ability to obtain before commencing employment). Five years of experience is required, preferably in the areas of municipal law, real estate including planning and zoning, and utility matters.
