Job Description

Lake County Information Technology is seeking an experienced Associate IT Network Systems Engineer to join the Service Delivery Team.

The Associate IT Network S ystems Engineer is a supporting member of the team who assists as an escalation point within the Service Delivery team. This role is capable of troubleshooting and resolving the advanced desktop and system issues as well as monitors and maintains our various IT infrastructure and systems.

  • Perform administrative duties within server, network and desktop disciplines .
  • Perform analysis within trouble ticket to determine root cause.
  • Assist with system issues and faults. Identify root cause.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
  • Trained and experienced with Cisco networks.
  • Respond to user support requests.
  • Assist with support/ projects after hours.
  • Work with team to ensure maximum availability of all systems.
  • Research solutions to new problems.
  • Perform basic maintenance for network servers.
  • Share knowledge with other team members and cross-train .
  • Create and maintain documentation of various systems and software programs.
  • Collaborate with other team members on projects.
  • Manage backup environment and resolves issues
  • Manage exchange environment (O365 and on-prem)
  • Manage virtual machines both on premise and cloud

Work is performed in a customer service unit where teamwork and customer relations are paramount, creating a positive customer support experience and building strong relationships within the various departments of the County as well as within the Service Delivery Team.

Desired Skills

T o be successful in this position, the candidate must demonstrate c onsiderable knowledge o f desktops, servers, storage (cloud and prem), networks , p eripherals and software as well as have a strong understanding of ITIL Framework . C andidate will have a proven track record of assisting users using all available resources including researching, troubleshooting and documenting all steps taken to either resolve or escalate the issue.

Exceptional customer service skills and professional demeanor are a must. Candidate must be energetic, responsible, self-motivated and able to work in a Team environment under minimal supervision with a focus on the customer experience.

Required Experience

We are looking for an individual who has 3-5 years’ progressive IT experience including a minimum of three years supporting /designing complex infrastructure both on premise and cloud . Ability to constantly adapt, learn and support new technologies.
