Position: Part-Time Cook

Location: Vernon Hills, Illinois, United States

Salary: $15.34 per hour

Job Summary: Preparation and cooking of foods on a large-scale basis in a secure facility.

Becoming a part-time cook would allow you to be responsible for preparing and cooking foods on a large-scale basis. This is routine work in preparing food according to menus and standardized recipes, cleaning the cooking area and equipment, and serving the foods on an assembly line. Work is under the supervision of a Senior Cook or Food Service Supervisor. Maintains the work area in a sanitary condition and safely operates various kitchen equipment. This is a part-time position that will work approximately 20 hours per week on varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

In order to be successful in this role you should have a High school diploma or GED and six months to one year of experience preparing food on a large scale basis or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of an Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certificate is recommended. Individual must be must be familiar with commercial kitchen operations and equipment and have good knowledge of health and safety of food service operations in a secure facility.
