Job Description

The Capital Project Lead is responsible for delivery of capital design and construction projects of water system improvements in a region impacted by historic drought and wildfires.  Primary responsibilities include ongoing implementation of the District’s 2015-2020 capital plan to maintain water quality, enhance transmission and distribution system capabilities, and develop long term sustainable water supplies and operations and development of the 2020-2025 capital plan.  District projects range from surface water treatment plant upgrades and aeration systems to booster pump upgrades and infrastructure replacement.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, preferably in the civil discipline or related field.  Five years of capital project management, civil engineering, or construction management experience, preferably related to water works facilities or treatment.  California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer is preferred, but not required.  A valid California Driver’s License is required. Competency in MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD software is highly desirable.
