POSITION QUALIFICATIONS WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO QUALIFY A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban or regional planning, environmental planning, public administration, business administration, or related field and five years of increasingly responsible experience in urban planning, community development, or related experience including two years of administrative and supervisory experience. A master's degree is desirable. Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities will be considered qualifying. License: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required. Certification: Possession of certification as a Certified Planner from the American Institute of Certified Planners is highly desirable.
