Position Summary: Accountant I: Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, the Accountant I independently performs accounting assignments designed to expand practical experience and develop professional judgment in the application of accounting principles. The Accountant I performs a full range of financial duties, including examining financial documents for completeness, accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures and general accounting standards, and maintaining data integrity within campus account records. Accountant II: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Accountant II independently performs complex professional level accounting tasks that are informed by a thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accountant II is responsible for ensuring that assigned accounting activities are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures and generally accepted accounting standards, and maintaining data integrity within campus account records. The Accountant II is integral in continuous evaluation of existing operational practices and adaptation that may be necessary to maintain compliance with ever changing general and governmental accounting standards. This position acts as Division Controller for Deputy Directors of other divisions within HAS, specifically Terminal Management, Operations, and Infrastructure, helping develop business cases, compiling budgets and forecasts, and reporting as necessary to the Chief Financial Officer. This role is also a key contributor in the delivery of financial insights associated with key performance indicators of the Houston Airport System. The position will also develop and help other divisions complete business case analyses for cost-saving and return on investment initiatives. This role will also manage Fixed Assets and Grants. Finally, this role will be responsible for the expeditious delivery of any ad-hoc analysis requested by the Chief Financial Officer. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the following: Assist Deputy Directors with capital and operating budget compilation. Deliver routine reports on Houston Airport System Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) with key insights on trends affecting organizational performance. Develop and report a 12-month rolling forecast for each Deputy Director; highlight trends and identify opportunities for cost savings across the organization. Deliver quarterly rates and charges reports to the Chief Financial Officer; coordinate a review with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to assess significant variances to budget and ensure proper charges in line with actual expenses. Create high-level dashboards and other reports to quickly advise HAS management of its financial position. The Position Contra Costa County Auditor Controller's Department is recruiting to fill two (2) vacant Systems Accountant I positions located in Martinez, CA. The Budget Management Division is responsible for assisting the City Council and Executive Management team in managing the City's resources, developing and maintaining the City's long-range financial projections, and evaluating the fiscal impact of legislative initiatives and judicial decisions affecting the City . Minimum Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business, Public Administration or other closely related field.
