The Position Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is with the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds Section. It is supervised by the Facility Supervisor III. It is located in Las Vegas. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday and the hours are 7 am to 4 pm with a one hour lunch. This position will be performing journey level, skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, alter and/or maintain buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds maintenance on an ?as needed basis? for all State facilities under the jurisdiction of the Division in Southern Nevada, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and within the position's scope of responsibility. This position may require traveling to multiple locations and may require a flexible work schedule for emergency situations (stand-by-status), projects as they arise and call backs. Special Notes This position is subject to standby and call back status. Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position may require flexible/rotating shifts.
