Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager serves as the University’s representative and project manager for major and minor capital construction projects. Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager serves as the University’s representative and project manager for major and minor capital construction projects. Project Managers are responsible for managing all aspects of capital projects, including but not limited to, project budgets, coordination with campus entities, ensuring that work meets quality standards, and complies with all applicable building codes and regulatory requirements. Major duties and responsibilities: Internal Project Coordination Under general direction of the Director of Construction, manages all aspects of assigned projects with campus stakeholder groups. This includes but not limited to identifying project scope and budget, communicating capital project process and schedules, and documenting any decision-making during design phases. Collaborates with campus partners during the construction phase of a project to coordinate campus disruptions, inform building occupants of project work and impacts to the work area, facilitate relocation of furniture, materials or staff during various phases of the project, and manage move-in at the completion of project work. Responsible for campus-wide communications, including posting project impact on the department website and the campus map, as well as providing excellent customer service, responsiveness, and managing customer expectations throughout the capital project life cycle.
