THE POSITION NON-CAREER PART-TIME/SEASONAL On a part-time basis, supervise and participate in the leadership and/or monitoring of a variety of recreation activities, special events, and human service programs related to older adults and older adults with memory loss. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Employees in this classification are non-career. Incumbents can work up to 1040 hours per year. This classification differs from a Recreation Aide, Older Adults in that the Senior Recreation Aide has the responsibility for supervising Recreation Aides. The Senior Recreation Aide, Older Services is distinguished from the Senior Recreation Aide classification in that the former leads and monitors programs geared toward older adults and older adults with memory loss. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED General supervision is provided by a higher-level position. Responsibilities include the direct supervision of Recreation Aides and/or other lower level City positions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are typical for this classification. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Supervisory techniques and practices Basic first aid and safety practices. Ability to: Supervise, train and assign staff. Lead a variety of recreation and group activities designed for older adults and older adults with memory loss. The pool is open year round, heated to a comfortable 80 degrees, and is 50 meters in length. The pool also boasts heated changing rooms and showers. What you will be doing: Under supervision, Lifeguard/Swim Instructors perform a variety of duties for the purpose of providing for water safety at Concord Community Pool.
