Thanks for your interest in joining our team!Key statistics:950+ Consultants640+ Ph.D.s90+ Disciplines30+ Offices globallyOur OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Bowie, MD .You will be responsible forWorking in teams on complex interdisciplinary problems, often with tight deadlinesPerforming outstanding technical work for clients to include:National, state, and local fire and building code reviewsAnalysis of active and passive fire protection systemsLaboratory experimental design, construction, and coordination of testingFire and explosion investigations including hands on experience in the fieldPreparing proposals and technical reports, and presenting findings to clientsYou will have the following skills and qualificationsM.S., M.Eng., M.E., or Ph.D. in Fire Protection EngineeringStrong technical background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustionOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsStrong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of problems within and outside direct area of expertiseDemonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environmentPrior experience with prescriptive and/or performance-based analysis and application of codes and standards published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Code Council (ICC), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and similarIndustry experience, including co-op, work study or internship related to Fire Protection Engineering strongly preferredHands‑on experience in fire protection system design, installation, inspection, testing and maintenance preferredSuccessfully taken and passed Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam (preferred)Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].Life @ ExponentTo learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links: inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture.
