This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer with strong experience in virtualization, software‑defined networking, and hybrid cloud solutions, particularly within VMware ecosystems.You will play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure aligned with federal compliance standards, supporting both on-premises and cloud-based systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and manage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environmentsAdminister and maintain VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS)Implement and support software‑defined networking (SDN) solutionsArchitect and manage hybrid cloud environments integrating on‑prem and public cloud platformsIntegrate and manage Key Management Systems (KMS) for secure encryptionEnsure compliance with NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP , and other federal security standardsTroubleshoot complex infrastructure and network issues across enterprise systemsPerform lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, capacity planning)Automate deployments using tools such as PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible , or similarCollaborate with security teams, architects, and stakeholders to deliver resilient solutionsMaintain detailed documentation to support audits and operational readinessQualificationsActive Secret Security Clearance (must be maintainable)5+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or virtualization engineeringStrong experience with VMware platforms , including VCFHands‑on experience with SDN technologiesExperience with KMS or encryption key management solutionsAdvanced knowledge of vSphere, ESXi, and vCenterSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls; BGP/OSPF preferred)Experience supporting federal, DoD, or regulated environmentsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsPreferred QualificationsVMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV)Experience with Azure Government, AWS GovCloud , or VMware Cloud solutionsSecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ , CISSP)Scripting experience with PowerShell or PythonFamiliarity with Zero Trust architecturesExperience in consulting or client-facing environmentsWork Environment & TravelHybrid role (approximately 25% onsite at DISA locations)Local travel to DISA sites as neededFlexibility required for onsite support and collaborationOur comprehensive benefits package for full‑time salaried employees is effective immediately upon the start date.
