    Position SummaryOne Natural Resources Technician (Seasonal Worker, Full-time, 40 hours/week) position is available with the Colorado State University (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will provide entry-level training and experience on a range of natural resources projects supporting the Natural Resources Management (NRM) program at Minot Air Force Base, ND.Seeking a driven Natural Resources Intern to contribute to wildlife and ecosystem management as part of the military mission. This position is designed for aspiring biologists or ecologists to gain experience in plant and animal identification and field techniques with the aim of applying collected data to address complex interdisciplinary resource challenges. A successful candidate will use a variety of field methods to better understand the complex relationship between species and their habitat and how to manage for the military mission. This role is ideal for candidates ready for hands‑on wildlife handling and ecological monitoring.The position is not‑to‑exceed 63 working days.This position is onsite, and the Natural Resources Technician must have reliable transportation to the site. The ECDP is unable to provide relocation or housing stipends.Full Consideration Date is 3 May @ 12:00 am MDT.Position Location: Minot Air Force Base, NDThe base is located in Ward County, 13 miles north of Minot, North Dakota and only 50 miles from the Canadian border. To learn more about Minot AFB and it's mission, visit Minot Air Force Base.Essential Job DutiesFieldworkConduct field work, which can include management for wildlife, vegetation, invasive species, threatened and endangered species, wetlands, forests, and / or outdoor recreation areas, GPS data collection, field mapping, photography, public outreach and / or education, etc.AdministrativeOffice‑based tasks can include data entry and management, public outreach, preparing site forms, writing technical reports, compliance documents, database and data management, spatial analysis, and / or preparing correspondence and other documentation.Conditions of EmploymentPre‑employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a driver's license by the employment start date.The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.Must be able to pass a federal background investigation to obtain a Department of Defense Installation Access Pass.
