This role involves coordinating with a team of ramp personnel, handling the loading and unloading of baggage and cargo, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures. The Ramp Lead will communicate with flight crews, ground staff, and operations control to facilitate timely aircraft turnarounds.RESPONSIBILITIESGuide inbound/outbound aircraft to and from gate without damage or injuryCommunicate effectively with flight crews, ground staff, and operations control to ensure timely aircraft turnaroundsConduct regular inspections of the ramp area and equipment to maintain safety standardsRespond to operational challenges and troubleshoot issues as they ariseTrain and mentor ramp staff on best practices and safety protocolsMaintain accurate records of ramp activities and incidentsEnsure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operationsSafely lift, unload, load and transport baggage, mail and cargo to and from aircraft and airportProtect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss and weather conditionsAbility to drive and operate heavy ground equipment, such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks and belt loadersAssist in record keeping and documentation to ensure correct routing of baggageUse of personal protective equipment, including hearing protectionMaintain area cleanlinessExecute daily quality control checks on equipmentExemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standardsPerform any additional duties as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONS18 years of age or olderMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employmentMust hold a valid driver's licenseCommunicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)Minimum of 1 year of experience in ramp operations or a similar role in the aviation industryAbility to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices such as iPads/Tablets, computers, and mobile devicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal - as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidaysTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
