Officers will be responsible for access control, patrols, surveillance, incident response, and maintaining a safe environment for employees, visitors, and contractors.Key Responsibilities Access Control & Surveillance Monitor and control entry points for employees, contractors, and visitors.Operate CCTV systems and conduct surveillance to detect and report suspicious activity.Issue visitor badges and maintain access logs.Patrol & Incident Response Conduct regular patrols of facilities, perimeters, and designated areas.Respond promptly to security and emergency incidents, including fire, theft, vandalism, trespass, and medical emergencies.Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.Administrative Duties Prepare daily activity and incident reports using automated reporting software.Maintain accurate records of security activities and incidents.Participate in regular meetings with management to discuss security issues and improvements.Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required.Minimum two (2) years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related field; experience with government agencies preferred.Licensure & Screening Valid security officer license (“guard card”) issued by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).For armed positions: Exposed Firearms Permit and compliance with all relevant state regulations.Criminal background check through California DOJ and FBI.Pre-employment drug screening and physical examination.Certifications Valid First Aid and CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.Skills & Competencies Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking); Spanish proficiency desirable.Strong judgment, professionalism, and ethical conduct.Ability to operate radios, computers, CCTV, and visitor management systems.Physically fit for moderate to arduous duties; good vision and hearing required.Training Completion of comprehensive security officer training program, including:De-escalation, conflict resolution, and critical incident response.Firearms proficiency (for armed roles).Hazardous materials awareness and safety procedures.Emergency evacuation and workplace violence prevention.Conduct & Performance Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.Adhere to strict code of ethics and client policies.Prompt and regular attendance; excellent record required.Accurate and timely reporting of incidents and activities.Work Environment and Schedule Job operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors.Position requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.Open availability nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as directed.Work various shifts and holidays as assigned.Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is an affirmative action employer who provides equal employment opportunities to minorities, females, veterans, and disabled individuals, as well as other protected groups.
