The role is delivery-focused on research, technical writing, plan development, exercise facilitation, and client‑ready deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesLead assigned client engagement workstreams from kickoff through deliverable submission – owning scope, schedule, and quality, and mentoring junior team members.Engage directly with client stakeholders through workshops, interviews, working sessions, and deliverable presentations; build effective working relationships and communicate clearly throughout the engagement lifecycle.Identify opportunities for organic growth on assigned engagements – surface emerging client needs that align with company service offerings and partner with the CEO on scope expansion within existing accounts.Conduct comprehensive resilience and BCM assessments: risk assessments, business impact analyses (BIA), hazard vulnerability assessments (HVA), and THIRAs to identify client vulnerabilities, dependencies, and capability gaps.Develop and deliver continuity and emergency management plans – BCPs, COOPs, EOPs, response plans, and crisis management protocols tailored to each client's sector, maturity, and operating realities, applying industry frameworks (ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, FEMA CPG‑101) as a foundation rather than a checklist.Design, facilitate, and evaluate HSEEP‑aligned exercises and training – tabletops, functional exercises, and crisis‑response drills, producing after‑action reports (AAR) and Multi‑Year Training and Exercise Plans (MYTEP) that drive measurable client improvement.Technical ExpertiseResilience and Continuity Planning: Conduct comprehensive resilience, risk, and BCM assessments, Business Impact Analyses (BIA), resilience and continuity strategy development, documented procedures aligned with ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, and/or FEMA CPG‑101. Develop Business Continuity Plans (BCP), Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP), Emergency Operations Plans (EOP), Hazard Vulnerability Analyses (HVA), and Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA).Training and Exercise Delivery: Design and facilitate HSEEP‑aligned tabletop and functional exercises. Deliver client training on continuity, crisis management, and emergency response. Produce after‑action reports (AAR) and Multi‑Year Training and Exercise Plans (MYTEP).Ideal CandidateStrong in business strategy, with an ability to take a vision and execute, translating desired outcomes and client pain points into targeted deliverable products.Extensive consulting experience with a demonstrated ability to lead engagement workstreams from kickoff through deliverable submission with limited oversight.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt to varying audiences and present to director‑level and executive stakeholders.Technical depth and experience encompassing the full lifecycle of business continuity, continuity of operations, and emergency management, integrating crisis management, crisis communications, and enterprise risk. Thinks beyond the standard playbook and treats industry frameworks (ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, FEMA CPG‑101, HSEEP) as a foundation rather than a checklist.Minimum RequirementsMust live in the Charlotte, NC metro area or be within a 2‑hour or less drive.5–8 years of professional services experience in business continuity, continuity of operations, and emergency management consulting, demonstrating production of BIAs, BCPs, COOPs, EOPs, THIRAs, and HVAs.Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, emergency management, risk management, or a related discipline.Active credentials: Certified Business Continuity Planner and/or Certified Emergency Manager.Proficiency with modern collaboration and document‑development tools (Microsoft 365, project‑management software, etc.).Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in a consulting environment with a desire to transition to a small business and make a meaningful direct impact.Experience working in the private sector, government, and transportation sectors (airports and transit).The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
