  • Job Description

    The City of Weatherford’s Parks & Recreation Department is looking to hire a Full-Time Event Assistant. The Event Assistant will support the Parks & Recreation Department in overseeing a variety of scheduled events as well as support daily operations of the department.     Roles & Responsibilities Include:
      • Fulfill reservation requests, discuss policies with renters, and file all documents associated with rental.


      .

      • Process admission transactions and other purchase transactions.


      • Assist with city organized events. Responsible for event setup/takedown, and cleaning. This may include but is not limited to: chairs, tables, trash, bathrooms, insuring cleanliness of grounds, and other event specific requirements.


      • Answer phone, in person and email inquiries made by the public. Provide answers and or guidance to inquiries in a professional manner.


      • Provide administrative support to the department and cross train at the Parks and Recreation main office.

      • Assist with department marketing, communications, and creative materials.



      • Perform other duties as required or assigned.


      • All management decisions will go to the Events Supervisor’s or Director.

      • Graphic design and creative writing skills.





    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    Special Requirements

    Must be able to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist or crouch as necessary when performing job duties. Is required to be able to carry, balance, lift, push, pull or reach supplies and or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Hearing and vision must be satisfactory to the degree that duties may be performed effectively and safely. Environmental Conditions: Indoors and outdoors. Work may be performed in extreme outdoor element for an extended period of time. Candidates selected for employment will be required to pass pre-employment checks depending on the position requirements. Pre-employment checks could include, but not limited to criminal background check, drug screen, education verification, etc. Criminal convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
